Article 6 12 /2016 of march 16 about assisted reproduction of humans says:

“Any woman over 18 years of age and with full capacity to act may be the recipient or user of the techniques regulated in this law, provided that she has given her written consent to its use in a free, conscious and express way. The woman may be a user or recipient of the techniques regulated in this law regardless of her marital status and sexual orientation.

The result depends mostly on the age of the woman and the reasons of her sterility.

This method allows the couple to share the motherhood. The treatment consists out of the IVF. One person gives her eggs and the other one will give birth to the baby. Like this one mother is the genetical mother and the other one brings the baby to the world.

The sperm donor will be anonymous and will be chosen by the medical team as determined by article 6.4 of law 14/2016: “ “If an assisted reproduction is performed, only the doctors can select the anonymous sperm donor who has the best conditions. “

It’s important for both sides to sign a declaration of consent, which informs about the legal rights and those of the descendants. The double maternity is since 2007 allowed in Spain, in the case of marriage.
